Journal Impact Factor (JIF)

The Journal Citation Report (JCR) published its most recent edition in June 2023. The Journal Impact Factor (JIF), which was updated, had significant alterations as a result.

JIFs were previously restricted to journals that were included in the Science Citation Index and the Social Science Citation Index. For journals in the Emerging Sources Citation Index and the Arts and Humanities Citation Index, JIFs are now accessible as of the 2023 update. As a result of this modification, 9,000 more journals now have JIFs for the first time.

In addition, the presentation of JIF has undergone adjustments. JIFs were previously shown with three decimal places. There is now only one decimal place available to JIF. The JIF Percentile is now demonstrated with just one decimal place rather than two.
